The BEST bliss balls I have ever made!!! I had no idea how these would turn out, but I couldn’t be more impressed!
Bliss Balls/Protein Balls are a great to prep on a Sunday for the week ahead, so you have something healthy to snack on in-between or after meals, they satisfy your sweet tooth craving and contain plenty of nutrients instead of empty calories.
What’s different about these balls? Instead of using oats which create a softer texture, I’ve used Buckinis for the first time in my life! Buckwheat is a highly nutritious whole grain that is great to add to your pantry to switch up your ingredients every once in a while.
I grabbed these off the shelf from the health store I work at. You can try getting them online, or your local health food store. Alternatively, make your own at home from buckwheat groats!
A Few Notes On The Ingredients –
- Buckinis – An excellent source of energy to keep you powering through your day. Slow digesting carbs help balance your blood sugar levels. Buckwheat also contains fibre for colon and digestive health, as well as protein.
- Peanut Butter – A great source of healthy fats.
- Rice Malt Syrup – My favourite sweetener to use in my baking! Similar to maple syrup, only one ingredient (organic brown rice) and thick!
- Coconut Oil – Okay to eat in moderation! Great for holding raw treats together and can encourage your body to burn fat.
- Nuzest Protein Powder – I’ve been taking this for years! Whether I enjoy it in a protein shake, smoothie, oats, chia pudding, raw slices, or even stirred into yoghurt bowls with fruit! I will link my discount codes below. Nuzest is all natural, contains minimal ingredients, is vegan AND tastes great!
- Flaxseed Meal – High in Omega 3 healthy fats, fibre, protein and also help keep hunger at bay.
- Almond Meal – A popular and gluten-free alternative to wheat flour. It has a low glycemic index, is rich in magnesium, as well as vitamin E to protect against free radicals and helps manage your blood sugar for energy optimisation.
