Woweeee what a combo! I love the concept of brown rice in the morning because it’s quite uncommon! The only downfall is that it does take a little while to cook, but I simply just put it on the stove then start typing away and checking emails as I work from home. However, this could be better for you to enjoy on a lazy weekend morning. You only need to put the ingredients together and stir it occasionally so you can spend time with your family/friends/flatmates until it’s ready! Or cook a bulk batch and use it as meal prep during the week – simply just heat and eat! ☕️
Most common breakfasts like cereal and toast can be quite unhealthy and have hidden ingredients. Cereals are often high in sugar and contain empty calories that don’t provide you with long lasting energy. They simply slap high protein or high fibre on the packaging but it’s no where near as good as natural whole-foods like brown rice or steel-cut oats. Some brands are reputable but most I would stay away from. It’s just a marketing scheme. I still enjoy whole-grain bread in the morning but top it with fat and protein so it’s got something to digest with. That way it doesn’t sit like a ball in my stomach. For those who eat white or low-quality bread with a spread, it’s starting your day off with quick burning carbs (instead of slow releasing) and a sugar high depending on what’s put on it! 🍞
It sounds really negative but this is why so many people struggle with weight, energy crashes and digestive issues! If you start your morning off right it can impact the rest of your day! Leading to more productivity, sharper focus and concentration, as well as motivation to workout and stay active! It really is much more important than you may realise 👟
This recipe is also pretty cost effective as rice is one of the cheapest healthiest ingredients we have available to us! Not to mention the wonders it will do for your insides! 🥣
You can grab a discount on my favourite plant-based protein powder below. Even if you aren’t plant-based or vegan, switching to a dairy-free protein may aid your digestion as many people experience negative effects to whey without even realising that’s what’s causing it. Nuzest has an incredibly smooth texture, delicious flavours and great nutritional profile, unlike some other plant proteins that are gritty and taste a bit like sand 😂
I hope you love this breakfast and continue to enjoy it on a regular basis! Don’t forget to tag me online if you share your creations! 🍫
