Welcome to Part TWO of my little video series, showcasing some of the best vegan dining options in Auckland, New Zealand!
Following on from my original ‘Top 5 Places To Dine Vegan In Auckland‘, I decided to do a little dedication to DESSERTS since we all get sweet tooth cravings sometimes!!!
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Cassie Amber and I’m a plant-based holistic nutritionist. I’m passionate about making healthy food exciting and full of flavour! I want to take away the rules and numbers around eating, to instead encourage you to eat intuitively so staying on track with your goals is fun rather than a chore.
So let’s get into it!
#1 Tart Bakery, Grey Lynn & Karangahape Road
To tell you the truth, I hated donuts my whole entire life until I tried one from Tart Bakery! Vegan desserts are a little harder to come by when you’re on the go, but thanks to Tart Bakery you get an array of beautiful gourmet pies, sandwiches and wholesome donuts.
I was lucky enough to get the OWNER Philippa on camera giving the most amazing speech/interview from her heart that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it 🙌
We talk about what inspired her to start Tart Bakery, what WE can do for the health of the planet and what ingredients they use to make their food vegan (and compassionate) instead of generic 🌱
#2 Cali Press, Parnell
I decided to include a smoothie joint in this ‘dessert’ series, because when I’ve had conversations with different people they didn’t know you could get healthy chocolate smoothies!!!
All made with whole-foods, this is an awesome way to satisfy your sweet tooth. Quite frankly, two of the flavours I’ve had from here are the best I’ve tried in my whole entire life.
Some of the flavours include –
- GOLDEN GLOW – almond mylk, banana, mango, turmeric, maca, cinnamon, plant protein, vanilla, dates (this one tastes like caramel to me, one of my FAVOURITES)
- MUSCLE BEACH – Almond mylk, banana, mango, blueberry, superfood granola, plant protein
- GODFATHER – Almond mylk, espresso shot, banana, vanilla bean, cinnamon, dates, almond butter (absolutely incredible)
- LE CHOCOLAT – Almond mylk, banana, cacao, dates, almond butter, cacao nibs (yuuuuum)
#3 Delectable Desserts, Recipe Book By Me
The third and final video to this series is one of my own products! This recipe book came about because I came to the realisation after having lots of conversations with people, that many don’t know you can actually eat a dessert that is HEALTHY!
The definition of health to me is using natural whole-foods. Ingredients that were put on the earth for us to enjoy. I’m not fussed over calories as I eat intuitively. We know what our bodies need 🙂
By steering away from processed food, we skip filling our bodies with artificial ingredients that spike your sugar levels and leave you feeling icky for the rest of the day.
Instead, we can enjoy our favourite foods whilst providing our bodies with nutrients and energy to get us through the day! Don’t just survive, thrive..
